Fortnite is currently probably one of the most popular games among children and adolescents. But it is not only a hot topic in the schoolyard and in youth meetings, but also in the media and on social networks. But what exactly is Fortnite? Why is it so inspiring and what do you have to pay attention to?
WHAT KIND OF GAME IS FORTNITE?
Fortnite is divided into two completely different game modes, Save the World and Battle Royale. Save the World takes place in a post-global disaster era, with players having to build a base alone or together with a team and protect them from zombies. Sounds very exciting, but virtually everyone is captivated by the "Battle Royale". This game mode starts with a total of 100 players, who compete alone, in pairs or in teams of four. The last-survivor or the last surviving team wins.
The battle starts on a bus that flies over an island. You jump off at any place, with a pickaxe and of course a parachute or something like that, for example, an umbrella. Once down, the battle begins. With the pickaxe, various raw materials can be mined, whether a car is converted into metal or a house into bricks, does not matter.
The collected materials can be used to build walls, stairs and other parts of the building to overcome obstacles, to create a cover or to cleverly trick the enemy. Of course, there are many other useful tools for combat all over the island: various weapons, ammunition, shield potions, bandages or traps. Depending on how long you last, a game can take up to 30 minutes.
Good to know: Fortnite's developer Epic Games is known for constantly supplementing and developing the games. The very popular Playground Mode (playground) makes it possible to try outbuildings in the peace of mind, without the constant pressure of the rising storm. For a limited time, such modes are available with new skins, improved, and keep the excitement and game motivation high at Fortnite.
WHY DOES FORTNITE CAPTIVATE SO MANY?
What sets Fortnite apart from normal "ballgames" is this Battle Royal mode. It brings variety to the otherwise rather uncreative genre. In addition, there is more to it than eliminating your opponent by force of arms, there are different ways to win. Players are completely free to choose strategies. Whether they run wildly like Rambos, entrench themselves and wait until almost no one is left, or lead the other players around with buildings and traps by the nose, is up to them. This makes it all the more fun when strategies can be discussed and tried out together with friends.
